Fed; Ansett employees hopes of Xmas payment wane
Ansett workers will have to wait until next week to know if they'll get their entitlements
before Christmas.
Their unions have reached an agreement with Ansett's administrators and the Commonwealth
government, but the Federal Court hasn't certified it.
Federal Court Justice ALAN GOLDBERG says he won't decide until next week whether he
has the authority to ratify a deal which could be overruled by Ansett's creditors.
Employees say they're becoming more and more frustrated by the delay in accessing their money.
Administrative support worker DEIRDRE LAMPARD says many staff need the money for Christmas
expenses and household bills.
